A recent survey of marketers found that 76% of them plan on increasing their use of YouTube over the next year. It’s pretty simple why … because YouTube is a gigantic marketing platform. Some statistics:

  • It’s the second largest search engine in the world.
  • YouTube is the 3rd most visited website in the world.
  • It’s the world’s largest video sharing platform.
  • In 2011, YouTube had over one trillion total views.
  • More than 140 views for every man, woman and child on earth.
  • More than 800 million monthly unique viewers worldwide.
  • 4 billion videos are viewed every day.

We could keep going, but it’s clear that YouTube has billions of eyes focused on it every day on computers and mobile devices and phones.  As marketers, we want those eyes focused on our products, services, and marketing.

There is no product, service or affiliate marketing strategy that cannot benefit immensely from video.  You may have to put your mind to it, but you can come up with videos that are interesting, perhaps instructional, or just entertaining in your marketing niche.  While there are still diehard readers out there, the majority of people today, especially considering the high speed Web access available to them, would rather watch a video to learn something new.  And, with everyone going mobile, they play just as well wherever they are.
